Big business verse the craftsmen......nothing to do with american made.

i have been pondering the rants and not so very much of a rant postings in blogs the last few months.......... reading and re-reading the heartfelt opinions of others i respect.......
Made In The U.S.A..........
is that the real issue? unfortunately because of certain historical mishaps with nationalism and the current climate in the United States, i am not certain that that mantra really has much strength in theory.
it is big business/corporations that are stepping on the smaller CRAFTSMEN and are out- producing/outsourcing products that really talented/innovating individuals are creating out of their own garages. when i hear TOO much rhetoric about the theory behind `made in the U.S.A.`, it sounds a little too much like nationalistic bullshit to advertise product. and out of touch nationalism and patriotism combined with ulterior motives turn horribly ugly. and the next you know you have followers that misrepresent the actual message............
SUPPORT YOUR SCENE.....SUPPORT LEGITIMATE CRAFTSMEN......SUPPORT YOUR FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES.....bottom line. and don`t be too proud to admit it.......
if you`re gonna buy something for your bike and someone you know in this M/C blog world we are apart of produces it, purchase from them.....we all wear black t-shirts, buy them from the hundreds that are produced on these blog sites. we have so.cal. folks like FMA, Cro Customs, Slim Fabrications, 4Q, Born Loser to name a few, Teach, Irish Rich, Death Science, Love cyles, Jr`s cycle products, out of cali, that are proud of what they are producing and trying to keep this scene tight-niched. but we should not keep it so tight that we can`t appreciate the great craftwork of HwzBross, Brat-style, Rigid Hips Stockholm, Joe King speedshop, Sinistros, Greasy Kulture and all they have to offer. of course you can add to my list or tell me others i have missed but i`m making my point.
it is not about America verse the world.....it is about REAL craftsmen verse corporate cookie cutter bullshit that we swallow out of convenience.....those catalogs are SO easy. but we all have computers, research and support what we all love and the people that take great pride in what they produce.

but what the fuck do I know? don`t be haters.......... just trying to produce the love. be peace.

thanks for writing that post. i agree with supporting people that I dig. Just like the skateboards i used to buy, i bought the ones of the skaters i was stoked on. fred smith, chris miller, t.g., people that had a style i thought was inspiring. make the best of this life, do what makes you happy.

As a foreigner point of view...growing up with around my grandfather and dad's hobbies...'made in the USA' products meant top quality...I'm not being a lover too just honest and in most cases I think it still has that meaning.
But truly loving what you do is what makes good stuff become the best no matter where you live.
Maybe the hardest part is the ability to pick who to support and admire...which also takes time, love and a lot of reading.
