Bus passes, state prison checks, and vodka........

well anyways, dynamite joe just left and i said i`d call him in about a hour to go for a ride.............
well anyways, i get a phone call about 20 minutes later from a friend who was released from Chuckawalla Valley State Prison , west of Blythe, days ago, thinking i`d be the last person on his list to get in touch with. well anyways, `A` said he was about 20 minutes away and wanted to get some calm and peace. he said he had been in coachella valley for a week gettin in touch with a lady-friend. for sure. `A` had spent 12 years locked down and he could have tapped at least a dozen or so folks and landed a third of the time. no way. 2 years were added because of an altercation.....
our group every other month would switch off to send him `gifts` to trade off and make life easy.
i said "hell yeah, get over here", looking over at my wife. she kinda had a `i give up` look on her face, walked to the freezer pulled out the bottle of vodka, put 2 glasses on the counter and said, " i thought this shit was over?" my wife never cusses. `baby, this is different. this is an old friend. shit. please? well, she said she was leaving and i told her how much i loved her. i do. well she split to her sisters for awhile.
well anyways when A pulled up, i heard his bike make the turn, he looked good, healthy, a little more ink then the last time i saw him, with a big smile on his face. my heart hurt and my stomach was turning but it was good to see him. every childhood memory brought a smile to my face. god, we surfed so much. he is famous for his bearhugs and guess what i got, nothing but pure love. "how`d you get your bike?" "my dad showed up and we unloaded it off his truck......." "what`d he say?" they don`t talk much and he said not a word was said. " i can`t figure out how that old fucker got it up on his truck." his dad shook his hand, it took about a half dozen kicks and the shovel fired up. his dad gave him a smile. i guess his dad kept it good for him, waiting for him to get out knowing he was going to want to get on it. `A` wanted to come out to say hey and get a bit of `being peace`. i always would send him books on buddhism and blues cd`s. he was gonna be on his way to pick up a gift from a friend of ours in Echo Park. `A` won`t have to work another day in his life. there really is no price to put on his loyalty but god fuckin damn it. we talked and i suggested he forget about certain`trash`, be peace..... when you understand, you cannot help but love. he fuckin laughed and said i was fuckin crazy..... then he said thanks. he`s going up north and i`ll be riding up north to see him this summer. he has a beautiful house waiting for him, real close to some great waves. " you need anything?" "state gave me a bus pass and a check", laughing. "i lit a joint with the bus pass and rolled the check up into a straw and sipped my first vodka with it"......... it never stops..... so real. sorry, no picture come with this blog post.... motorcycle pictures can be so important to the integrity of these m/c blogs.
well anyways fuck you. i rest........ for now.
